Incarnation

A Journal of the Moral Imagination

There is only the fight to recover what has been lost

And found and lost again and again: and now, under conditions

That seem unpropitious. But perhaps neither gain nor loss.

For us, there is only the trying. The rest is not our business.

-T.S. Eliot, “East Coker”

Welcome to Incarnation

We are a journal of short fiction grounded in the Western literary tradition and the moral teaching of the Catholic Church. In response to a perceived lack of outlet for promising writers who do not have the means to work with large publishing companies, we seek to provide a place in which new works of fiction – Catholic and otherwise – may be published and read. It is our hope that this journal will bring to light many authors of great literary potential who will contribute to the revitalization of Western culture.
